Indonesian Occupational Medicine Updates (IOMU) XVIII
Surabaya, Indonesia – May 15–17, 2026

On behalf of the Indonesian Occupational Medicine Specialist Association (IOMA), it is our honor to welcome colleagues, international delegates, speakers, and participants to the 18th Indonesian Occupational Medicine Updates (IOMU XVIII), to be held in Surabaya, Indonesia, on May 15–17, 2026.

For nearly two decades, IOMU has served as a leading scientific forum for occupational health professionals in Indonesia and has grown into an international platform connecting experts, policymakers, industry, and academia. IOMU XVIII marks an important milestone in advancing occupational health practice while strengthening global collaboration.

The theme, “Occupational Medicine without Borders: Emerging Risks, Evolving Workforces, and Inclusive Collaboration,” reflects the changing nature of work today. Occupational risks now extend beyond traditional hazards, influenced by digitalization, artificial intelligence, climate change, psychosocial challenges, and workforce mobility. These changes call for broader perspectives and stronger collaboration across disciplines and borders.

IOMU XVIII is honored to welcome international organizations such as ICOH, ACOEM, and the ILO, along with experts from the Asia-Pacific region. The program will cover key topics including mental health, environmental exposure, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, health risk assessment, digital transformation, disability management, and return-to-work strategies.

Over three days, the conference will feature plenary lectures, symposia, scientific presentations, workshops, and interactive discussions, offering both theoretical insight and practical application. Beyond knowledge sharing, IOMU XVIII aims to support policy dialogue and collaboration to strengthen occupational health systems in Indonesia and globally.

We sincerely thank our partners, sponsors, committees, and contributors for their dedication and support. Most importantly, we appreciate the participants whose engagement sustains the impact of IOMU.

We hope IOMU XVIII will enrich knowledge, inspire innovation, and strengthen professional networks toward healthier workers and safer workplaces. We warmly welcome you to Surabaya, a city where tradition meets innovation, and look forward to a productive and memorable conference.

Welcome to the 18th Indonesian Occupational Medicine Updates (IOMU) 2026 with the theme ‘Occupational Medicine without Borders: Emerging Risks, Evolving Workforces, and Inclusive Collaboration.

This symposium is organized in recognition that work productivity is a key determinant of organizational success and contributes significantly to company revenue and the national economy. The physical, mental, and social health of workers has been proven to be a major factor influencing productivity.

Through this forum, we aim to discuss the strategic role of worker health performance and how these health priorities can be effectively integrated into workplace policies and practices, in line with the emergence of new occupational risks and changes in the characteristics of the global workforce. Additionally, this symposium is expected to serve as a collaborative space for primary care physicians, occupational physicians, occupational medicine specialists and other specialists, occupational safety and health professionals and industrial hygienists, academics, residents, and HR and HSE practitioners across sectors to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices in the development of sustainable occupational health.

With the spirit of building a professional, reliable, and collaborative OSH management ecosystem, we would like to express our gratitude to all government stakeholders, academics, media, domestic and foreign professional organizations, and all IOMA partners who have worked together in organizing this scientific event.

On behalf of IOMA, we welcome you and wish you a fruitful participation in this series of activities. May this forum contribute significantly to the advancement of occupational medicine and the improvement of the health quality of workers in Indonesia and globally.

Indonesian Occupational Medicine Updates (IOMU) XVIII
Surabaya, Indonesia – May 15–17, 2026

On behalf of the Indonesian of Occupational Medicine Specialist Association (IOMA), it is with great honor and privilege that I welcome all distinguished colleagues, international delegates, esteemed speakers, and participants to the 18th Indonesian Occupational Medicine Updates (IOMU XVIII), which will be held in Surabaya, Indonesia, from May 15–17, 2026.

For nearly two decades, IOMU has served as a premier scientific platform for occupational health professionals in Indonesia and has steadily expanded into an international forum, bringing together experts, policy makers, industry leaders, and academic institutions. This year’s gathering represents a milestone in our continuing journey of advancing occupational health science and practice, while deepening our engagement with global partners.

The theme of IOMU XVIII, “Occupational Medicine without Borders: Emerging Risks, Evolving Workforces, and Inclusive Collaboration,” was deliberately chosen to reflect the profound transformation that is redefining the world of work. We are entering an era in which occupational risks are no longer confined to traditional hazards. New and complex challenges emerge from digitalization, artificial intelligence, climate change, psychosocial pressures, and global mobility of workers. These developments require us to broaden our perspectives, to recognize the interconnectedness of health, safety, and productivity, and to cultivate inclusive collaboration that transcends national and disciplinary boundaries.

We are deeply honored by the presence of renowned international associations and institutions, including the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH), the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM), and the International Labour Organization (ILO), alongside leading experts from Asia-Pacific. Topics will range from occupational mental health, environmental exposures, ergonomics, and industrial hygiene, to health risk assessment, digital transformation of work, disability management, and return-to-work strategies.

Over the course of three days, the scientific program of IOMU XVIII will feature plenary lectures, symposium, scientific paper presentations, workshops, and interactive case discussions designed to provide both theoretical depth and practical application. Topics will range from occupational mental health, environmental exposures, ergonomics, and industrial hygiene, to health risk assessment, digital transformation of work, disability management, and return-to-work strategies. Beyond knowledge dissemination, the conference aspires to be a forum for advocacy, policy dialogue, and strategic collaboration that will strengthen occupational health systems in Indonesia and contribute to global goals for sustainable, safe, and decent work.

We wish to extend our highest appreciation to our organizing partners, sponsors, and contributors for their generous support, and to the scientific and organizing committees whose dedication and commitment have made this event possible. Most importantly, we recognize the participants whose enthusiasm and intellectual engagement are the very essence of IOMU’s continuing relevance and impact.

It is our hope that IOMU XVIII in Surabaya will not only enrich our scientific knowledge, but also inspire innovative solutions, foster stronger professional networks, and shape the future of occupational medicine both in Indonesia and internationally. By sharing insights and experiences, and by working together across disciplines and borders, we move closer to our shared vision: healthier workers, safer workplaces, and more productive societies.

We warmly welcome you to Surabaya “an inspiring city where tradition meets innovation” and we look forward to an engaging, fruitful, and memorable IOMU XVIII.
